Join us for this year's Secret Garden Tour and Luncheon on Saturday, May 18th.

The 3rd Annual Secret Garden Tour will provide over 250 participants and move to the north side - to subdivisions surrounding Phil Hardberger Park, the site of our Luncheon. This self-paced tour will open at 8:30a and will include a rare look inside private neighborhoods. This will be a driving tour of special yards identified by landscape architect Albert Fernandez. Docents will be available to help you explore these unique outdoor spaces that have been chosen for their beauty, emphasis on native vegetation, and the implementation of water conservation techniques. Participants will receive a gift bag containing a map of the yards open for tour, a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated, information on how to enhance their own landscapes while conserving water, SAWS conservation rebate and rewards program information, and more.

The Luncheon Honorary Chairs: Phil and Linda Hardberger

Luncheon participants are invited, if you finish the tour early, to come on over to the Ecology Center. Beginning at 10am, Patty Leslie Pasztor will take you on a short hike of the prairies and pollinator gardens and let you band butterflies. Or, you may prefer to sunprint, transfer Polaroid, or take a lesson in photography from our Picture Your World manager Carra Garza. Or ever wonder why anyone living in the city would consider restricting the use of their property? In addition to loving the land and wanting to conserve it, there can be financial benefits. By 11am, the event will move indoors and the program and meal will showcase the impact of Green Spaces Alliance on scales large and small. The menu will highlight recipes designed by produce, herbs and hogs found in our very own community gardens and nature preserve around town! There will also be a number of raffle items, including a great $300 gift certificate to Milberger's nursery, and silent auction items.
